Johnny Got His Gun: Chapter 18-20

In the last couple chapters of the book Joe gets a response to his morse code messages from before. The people at the hospital ask him, "What do you want?" This question kind of pissed off Joe because he didn't know how they were asking him. For all he knew they were saying, "Jeeze...what do you want?" like he was a nuisance. Despite his thought of the question Joe comes to a decision of what he wants to say. He wants to be on display for all the world to see. So they can see what war has done to him. He wants everyone to learn how brutal the outcome of the fighting can truly be. He is this product of a war. This abomination created by the people who sent him to war.

I feel like you got the part about Joe's response to the doctors question of "What do you want", but i feel like you left out his response to why it was against regulations. Joe simply wanted to be out and part of some society so people can see him and what he is. The reason why it is against regulations goes much deeper then what you had said.

Hello Palucchi. Your blog is pretty good, I like how you describe how the people in the hospital asked him what he wanted. Now that I think about it, it does make sense the way you described it. I think you could have talked more about why it was against regulations and how they probably feared the reaction and what was going to happen. Joe let his mind run all over this issue and I think you didn't shed enough light on it.

Quesitonable....
